Kelly Nunn
Founder & Executive Director
Kelly Nunn, MLD (Masters in Leadership Development), is the Founder and Executive Director of One Degree Leadership. Kelly launched ODL in 2012 after 25 years of playing and coaching sports left her noticing that athletics for girls was far more than what happened on the sports field. She believed that sports is an immeasurable venue for adolescent girls to develop themselves through the many good times, trials and tribulations that come along with sport. As a coach, Kelly always provided an environment that was balanced between athletic development and character development. She noticed that if given the right environment adolescent girls would be able to build a stronger foundation of courageous leadership as they discover their innermost leader and develop their best selves throughout their most formative years. As a result, Kelly’s passion project, One Degree Leadership, was born and hundreds of adolescent girls have been able to empower themselves as our future leaders. Kelly played multiple sports growing up including soccer, dance, baseball, softball, track, and cross-country. She played soccer through college for Community College Nationally Ranked #1 (2000) Cypress College and Division I San Jose State University. Kelly has long been inspiring others, earning Most-Inspirational/Spirit Awards all 4 seasons in college. In 2000, Kelly fell in love with coaching adolescent girls in sports as a club soccer coach and shortly after graduating college, she went on to coach United Futbol Club for nearly 10 years, high school soccer and track at Dana Hills High School (4 years), and high school and middle school soccer St. Margaret’s Episcopal School (4 years). Kelly also coached at the Julie Foudy Leadership Academy in 2009.
